GUILD RULES

Disclaimer: Although we are all very fun-loving guys and get along extremely well, to a large degree it is because we only allow members of a certain disposition to join. If you are not of this particular disposition there are potentially many things that will get a guild member in your face and extremely angry, as well as getting you kicked out in a heartbeat. We are NOT everyone's cup of tea. If you read these rules and are not ready to fully support every one, as well as intuitively understand the reasoning for them you will definately want to look elsewhere. If you do understand the reason for them, and have always played this way without anyone telling you you have to, you will fit in very well and there likely will be no problems whatsoever. But please be honest with yourself before trying out. We don't want to waste either your time or ours. If you suspect the rules may be a problem for you, please look elsewhere..

Organizational Rules:

1) If you're outside you must be fully equipped. Dying because your "keg ran out of cures so I didn't have any" or because you "don't like to pay to insure good armor" is completely 100% unacceptable. If you join, we DEMAND you be among the top 100 pvpers on the shard within a reasonable amount of time, no ifs ands or buts. You will equip to the gills and be prepared for every eventuality AT ALL TIMES. We live by the cliche "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail".

2) You must always wear guild colors. We don't have time to memorize everyone's fashion of the week to keep from ebolting you amidst a group of blues. You will also try to be consistent about the particular outfit you wear.

3) Chain of Command: Members with "Sidekick" title will follow self-titled members directions to the letter. Reasonable debate and alternative suggestions are fine and encouraged when backed with clear reasoning, but self-titled members have final say as well as final say when all discussion is to be closed. You will not be allowed to give directions until you've proven you can follow them.

4) When you are in S@S, you are in S@S all the way. No other guilds. If you have time for another guild, then you aren't participating in this one correctly. Mule guilds, private one-man guilds, etc. are fine, but playing another character in a major guild that requires time and effort is not allowed. Besides, you WILL be killing them frequently.

5) Guild first, friends second. If we have allies, we won't attack them, but when on an organized run we will attack everyone else. The statement "Don't kill him. That guy's my friend" is unacceptable except when solo'ing or casual pk'ing. Occasionally there will be GUILD friends that won't get attacked, but that is because EVERYONE knows them and trusts them not to betray us in any way. In general however, if they are outside of the guild, you will be required to attack them when on organized runs. If you are out on a blue with a non-guild friend, make sure to WARN anyone that might be pk'ing where you are, what you're doing, and who your friend is. If you do not do this and your friend does end up being attacked it is YOUR FAULT for not appropriately warning guild members, and you may only VERBALLY inform guildmembers of the situation but otherwise you must stand aside until the issue can be dealt with later.

6) There is no attacking of other guild members allowed EVER in anger. Screwing around and sparring is fine in most situations (although not while we are pk'ing or trying to accomplish other things at a meeting), but if there is some sort of serious disagreement that leads to an attack on another member with malicious intentions, the aggressor WILL BE kicked out of the guild immediately. No ifs ands or buts. In addition, if you are out on a blue and are attacked by fellow members out pk'ing YOU CANNOT attack back. You are also required to disengage and get out of their way immediately and not "screw with them" thereby wasting their mana and weakening their position with regards to non-member blues in the region. Tell them who you are if you have time or flee and get out of their way. If any red is attacking your blue, it is a mistake, treat it as such and do not weaken their position with regards to their real enemies.

7) Use of Mirc and UOAM when playing non-mules is REQUIRED. You don't always have to play with guildmates or come running whenever help is needed, but we want everyone to have instant tabs on others in case a situation arises. If you die on a blue, then enter irc and uoam to ask for help, we're gonna be pissed. Asking for help means being available to help as well. In addition, when playing your PK with even ONE other member means using the Teamspeak server is REQUIRED. 24/7 UOAM and Teamspeak servers are provided.

8) Regular attendance for organized pk runs and guild meetings is required. The events are usually announced, or prepared well in advance so if you can't attend (or don't feel like it that week, which is okay OCCASIONALLY) you will have ample opportunity to inform someone that you won't be attending. Missing events repeatedly without at least checking in to tell people you won't be making it won't be tolerated for long. In addition if you ARE playing at the time, you are expected to participate in the event, not to be out playing a blue in a dungeon or muling.

9) No racist language or group-specific slurs are allowed in mirc, in game, or anywhere else. Your guildmates are your brothers, and all ethnicities/religions/sexes/sexual orientations/etc are welcome. Creating an atmosphere where they may feel uncomfortable will not be tolerated, regardless of whether you think you "know" minorities/etc are in channel or not. Assume they are, and act appropriately.

Required Attitude:

10) Honesty and class when dealing with others. If you say you'll keep out of a duel, you do it. If you tell that roleplayer you met 4 seconds ago you'll be happy to transfer his castle to his other account: YOU DO IT. Any scamming, major bug use, reporting of people to GM's, or other under-handed behavior will likely result in expulsion. We are pk's, we are pvp'ers, we are soldiers. We are not assholes. Messing with people's minds and mocking them in subtle ways they're too ignorant to notice is of course encouraged, but actively trying to screw someone else over, even if they deserve it, isn't allowed.

11) You will adopt a scientific approach to PvP. By joining us, you are saying that you PvP is your full-time job and you will pursue its theoretical perfection under all possible scenarios. You will strive to master duelling tactics, strategies, and timing against all templates. As a teammate you will strive to work 100% with every other member in the group. You will follow pre-existing plans of engagement, and will also demand your teammates follow the pre-existing plan as well, regardless of rank. Extreme discipline and clear mind of purpose will be required of you at all times. If you are a chaser who has a hard time disengaging opponents or someone that gets attack "tunnel-vision" you will not do well here. If you are a person that is a pack animal, that takes extreme pride in your xhealing ability, and feels guilty whenever you attack the least optimal opponent, you will do well.

12) NO EXCUSES. If you die, it's YOUR fault. If you die and the first thing you think of is that your enemy was a pussy server line hopper, or an unskilled 290 skill mage explosion/eq'er, or a lucky nobody with a platimum nuclear weapon of +1 million, you may not do well here. If you die and the first thing you think is, "alright, where did I fuck up? How can I keep from fucking up next time?" and then can tell the guy that killed you "good job" (although you may be gritting your teeth because of the fact he was indeed a pussy line hopper or unskilled item dexxer), you will do well here. The only time we do not consider death YOUR fault is if you die while correctly following the pk group's routine. In that case the blame is to be shared by all, as xhealing is a requirement of every member and if there is a group breakdown, it is the group's fault (unless you are the cause of the breakdown).

13) You will see yourself as a representative of the guild. Whenever you do or say anything, you will consider its implications for the guild before its implications for yourself.

Behavioral Rules:

14) If you are out solo'ing, you are out SOLO'ING. It is YOUR job to learn what you can and cannot handle, not other's jobs to continually bail you out after you bite off more than you can chew. There are no baby-sitters here. Everyone is expected to be able to take care of themselves in any situation they put themselves in. You can certainly ask for help, and with proper information about enemy #'s, names, guilds, etc it is likely you will get help. But do not DEMAND or think it is other's DUTY to come help you. Frankly we'd prefer it if members didn't solo at all. If you want to pk, try to get others involved, rather than getting in a habit of going out alone.

15) No res-killing unless it makes practical sense for the operation. If you are not done looting, or are being tailed, etc then it is fine. But if some punk is spewing off garbage after being killed, but is otherwise keeping his distance and provides no threat he is not to be res-killed. You can have fun with them, since they're awfully cute and make interesting pets sometimes, but don't res-kill them. In addition, ressing of victims is encouraged although by no means mandatory. If it is COMPLETELY SAFE and looting is finished, you may ressurect people at your discretion. If (when) they go into an angry diatribe, do not res-kill them however. As a S@S member you are expected to be above all such trivialities and to not allow yourself to be concerned with the victim's temper tantrums.

16) Horse-killing as a concept is not allowed. The caveats for this are similar to the ones for res-killing however. If it is possible the horse may be used against us in the immediate future (the person killed was right next to a bank and they may re-equip and re-attack soon) or presents an immediate danger to the group then they may be killed. We are not here to grief people, only to do what is necessary for our success and nothing more. More powerful mounts/pets may be killed, however, since they may present a legitimate threat in the future.

17) NO LOOTING UNTIL AN AREA IS SECURE. If 3 people are off fighting a 3v4 while you are looting a corpse, you're going to catch an earful. Attack as a group, loot as a group, nothing in between.

18) No smack-talking to non-guild members in game, in public mirc, or on public bulletin boards when it can be tied to the guild. If you are an individual of the Required Attitude described above, this shouldn't be a problem. Talk of how much particular guilds do in fact suck, and how cheeseball and cowardly certain people's tactics are will be kept in private channels. We've all got plenty of our own business to take care of rather than wasting time debating morons. Stroking their bellies and entertaining moronic diatribes is perfectly fine, just don't do it yourself. A good rule of thumb to determine whether you are smack-talking non-guild members or not is to ask yourself: 1) Am I pissed off at someone about something they did (probably killing you using a method you didn't prefer)?; and 2) Am I expressing in anger to them what I am pissed off about? When in doubt consult Rule 12.
